Oasis Hong Kong feedback
Posted by char88can (271 days ago)
Just wanting to know how customers of Oasis Hong Kong feel about their services, as a low cost H.K. airline. Would appreciate views on ticket cost, boarding service, seat comfort, entertainment, food, staff friendliness and their public relations service. Reason is my daughter is doing a school project on low cost Asian carriers and would like Oasis customers to feedback on their experiences. She has sought info. from their Public Relations Department but they do not have the manpower to respond. Thanks. Needs lots of feedback, please. PM me if you would like to fill out a simple

Our family of four flew Oasis to Vancouver for the Chinese New Year holidays and were very happy with the service. There was no big difference to non-budget airlines. There were even personal TVs with a quite good selection of movies. The only difference I could detect is that you have to pay extra if you want special meals (e.g. child meal, vegetarian etc.) or alcohol. The food was not that great though, especially the children's meals for which we had paid extra. Booking was very easy, the price was great, and the seat comfort was the same as that on more expensive airlines.

Did Oasis Business Class to London and was great. Pricing is A1 for what you get. Meals no better or worse than any other airline IMO. Alcohol and other drinks free in Business Class. Seats good, plenty of room and very attentive staff. Boarding and alighting was great (obviously priority with Bus Class), as was luggage collection, especially HK end. Entertainment was fine, again similar to whats offered elsewhere.
The acid test. Would I use them again. I would have to say they would be my first choice. No one else can offer so much for so little.

If you can get the cheap seats then great, but actually very hard to get. When ever we look there's none available, just paid $7,500 to get my daughter from LHR. She said it was OK, no better, no worse than other airlines.

Flew Oasis to Vancouver with the kids last summer and it seems the same as other economy class fares. However, the business class fares are a great deal b/c you do get so much more for little. The three of us flew r/t for $15,000 HKD.

If you can get the cheap seats, they are fine. However, on the HKG - London route, it's often not much more to fly on the other carriers.

I guess I may have got off lucky - I was about to purchase a ticket yesterday for 915 for two people in August to UK, decided I had to check some info on hotels first and get it today - when I went on today I couldn't find a filght then I found out about the bankruptcy :o
I may have been able to get my money back but who knows?

Wow, this is rather inconvenient to say the least.
My family purchased 4 tickets (london/HK rtn) for july/august.
What happens now? Is there a chance that another company could pick up the pieces and get Oasis back and running, or is it 100% dead now?
Will we get a refund?
Sorry if this is rambling, but rather in shock!

I believe that IATA travel agents have some sort of insurance protection in the event of a bankruptcy... might also extend to airlines? Try giving your travel agent a call - they may be able to direct you... I use Shirley at Fantasy and she's very knowledgeable shirley@fantasy.abacushk.com

I am very sad of the oasis crack down news, and I am hoping some investor can help them out of the lump. Let's pray together.

I booked my flights via the internet directly with Oasis - so really am not too sure where we stand? Will try the credit card company first and go from there...

Under consumer protection rules set by Visa & MasterCard, the cardholder has every right to demand the payment from their card issuer if the merchant ( OASIS) does not render service for which they have collected advance payments. This is called a chargeback in the credit card industry and all Visa/MAstercard cardholders can chargeback citing " Service Not Rendered" reason code. Am not sure about Amex.
