Has anyone stayed at the Manukan Island Resort off Kota Kinabalu? I had it recommended by someone who had not actually stayed there. I am considering a 4 night visit with my wife and children (5yo and 7yo).
I havn't stayed in the chalets, but the island is glorious. You can snorkle straight off the beach in good coral. There is also a great little restaurant that does inexpensive satay and burgers. The only downside is that other than snorkelling and swimming and eating and lazing about, there isn't anything else to do ... but hey.. who wants more? It's only a 15-30 min boat ride to Kota city(town) so its easy to nip in for dinner or a shop etc. I has a sticky at the accom and it looked good. Try to get the beach ones if you like swimming. The hill ones are usually occupied by trekkers. Very good value too.
P.s Drop us a line when you get back with your thoughts.
One more thing Mr Cheesy, Ask the resvrtn mob if the pool is operating.... it was empty when we went... Its next to the bar! So great for kids to play in while you sip a long island ice tea!
