If you want to do special shapes and colours, use a sugar cookie mix and follow the instructions on the package for rolled cookies. Then you can make icing/frosting and colour it pink or blue with food colouring or buy pre-made frosting in cans or tubes or use pre-made frosting and add pink and blue sprinkles.
The sugar cookie mix, frosting, food colouring and sprinkles can usually be found at larger Park N Shops, Log-on in Festival Walk, or perhaps City Super.

I've got a 'Cookie Galore' with hundreds of cookie recipes but I only know how to send it through e-mailing. Guess you have to give me your e-mail address if you want those recipes.
Have just e-mail a whole list of recipes in 'how to make cookies' to you. Have a nice time trying out the different kinds and do let me know their results. Thanks.
Hi there, peggie thank you ever so much! it is totally awesome! i will practice on the baking first for my husband to try then in a few months for my little girl ;)
WIth these endless recipes i wont be bored for a long time, just keep baking!
I suggest you make sugar cookies and go to a specialty shop like Bumps to Babes or a large kitchen shop and buy cookie cutters or cut the cookies in shapes like baby rattles or something. Anyway, maybe you are all set anyway.
