Where to go in Manila - is it Dangerous?

Hi, we are arriving a group a friends and our girlfriends to Manila on a friday (next month) at 22:00pm. Our connecting flight leaves at 07:00am. So we have a night to spend in Manila.

1. Should we just stay at the airport until our next flight?

2. Should we store our baggage and hit the night-life in the city? Where to go? Is it dangerous?

Some helpful tips will be appreciated. THANKS. Salomon.
