Does anyone know where I could find information on what it costs to raise a child in Manila? I'm a single mom of a 5-yr old and before I move there I would like info on rent, utilities, education, etc. Anyone have a starting place for me? Thank you!

I can't think of a site that can help you but your main consideration is raising your child so below are the things I think you should look at:
1) day-care centre or pre-school; at 5 most of the kids are going to pre-school (either half day or full day) so you better think what type of help you need
1a) help wanted or you have people who can support you?
1b) school (private, public, day-care type)
2) house location and type of accommodation
3) security of your house location
4) utilities, there shouldn't be problem with water or electricity but electricity charge is pretty high, one of the highest in asia
5) hospitals or access to police, parks, malls,...mainly accessibility to your place of interests
6) transportation, sadly, you have to consider this seriously since traffic jams are a regular thing so better consider whether you will own a car or make-do with public transport, w/c will depend on your location

Basically, put a guideline out what will be your criteria in choosing an area to live bec that will determine everything else. Good and bad areas to live are a truth in Manila, but then again, good and bad is subjective.
So better find someone who will help you or the company that answered DingDong's question might help. don't know them though.
